At a critical moment for the city, when water scarcity is a palpable reality, a forest fire has threatened to aggravate the situation in the hills of Bogotá.
The Fire Department has deployed all its efforts to control and extinguish the flames that spread at the height of Carrera 15 Este and Calle 74 Sur.
The mayor, Carlos Fernando Galán, spoke about it on his ‘X’ account where he thanked the Fire Department of the country’s capital for the work:
“We are going through a critical situation regarding the water reservoirs and we cannot take risks with fires. For no reason do they burn or bonfire or throw waste onto the hills or green areas. Let’s not aggravate the situation,” he asked citizens.
