(CNN Spanish) — Daylight saving time arrives this Sunday, March 10, at the northern border of Mexico, where the clocks of some municipalities must be moved forward one hour, as is the case in the United States, and remain with this adjustment until November.

In November 2022, the sanction of the Time Zone Law promoted by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador put an end to daylight saving time in most of the Mexican territory. However, some municipalities in five states must adjust their clocks, in this case early Sunday morning.

According to the law, this modified schedule will be in effect until the first weekend of November, in 2024 specifically on Sunday the 3rd of the penultimate month of the year.

Which municipalities in Mexico apply daylight saving time?

A total of 6 Mexican municipalities, located in five states bordering the United States, must advance their clocks one hour.

Baja California

San Quintín, Tecate, Tijuana, Ensenada, Mexicali and Rosarito Beaches.

Chihuahua

Guadalupe, Janos, Juarez, Manuel Benavides, Ojinaga, Praxedis G. Warrior.Ascension and Coyame of the Sotol.

Coahuila

Jiménez, Morelos, Nava, Ocampo, Piedras Negras, Villa Unión, Zaragoza, Acuña, Allende, Hidalgo and Guerrero.
