As the Spring Festival kicks off in Beijing, citizens and tourists are flocking to municipal parks to partake in the traditional custom of flower viewing. Major parks such as the Summer Palace, National Botanical Garden (North Garden), Zhongshan Park, Yuyuantan Park, and Xiangshan Park are attracting visitors in droves, providing a colorful and festive atmosphere for all.

The “Proud and Fragrant” Plum Blossom and Wintersweet Cultural Exhibition at the Summer Palace is a major highlight, showcasing more than 100 pots of plum blossoms, wintersweet stump bonsais, and other plants. Visitors can marvel at plum tree stumps that are over a hundred years old, while also experiencing the rich tradition and culture through ancient paintings, poems, and interactive activities.

Over at the National Botanical Garden (North Garden), the second Orchid Exhibition is captivating audiences with a variety of orchid species on display for the first time. The Tropical Exhibition Greenhouse is the main exhibition area, featuring different themed sections and providing a spectacular backdrop for New Year check-ins.

Meanwhile, Zhongshan Park is presenting a traditional flower boutique exhibition with the theme of “Dragon’s Prosperity”, showcasing the park’s characteristic flowers such as plum blossoms, peach, azalea, and bauhinia. This exhibition displays over 70 varieties of flowers and plants, offering visitors the earliest sight of spring flowers in Beijing parks.

Additionally, Yuyuantan Park is unveiling new cherry blossom products, including unique and elegant cherry blossom bonsais that are sure to catch the eye of visitors. With over 900 pots of home gardening plants, the park is exuding a vibrant spring atmosphere.

Finally, Xiangshan Park is launching a jasmine flower exhibition with the theme of “Ruilong jasmine flowers are beautiful”, providing a unique and charming atmosphere for citizens and tourists to learn about, appreciate, and admire the beauty of gardening.

As of 11 a.m., major municipal parks and the Chinese Garden Museum have already welcomed 160,000 visitors, showcasing the popularity and significance of flower viewing during the Spring Festival in Beijing.

With a wide array of floral exhibitions and cultural activities, these parks are the go-to destinations for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere of the Spring Festival and celebrate the arrival of the New Year.
