Work on the water network in the historic center: tankers with drinking water arrive

Outages on 20 and 27 July from 2pm until late at night. Next Wednesday Borgo Piave and Borgo Prà will also be involved

BELLUNO. Historic center without water for work on the city water network, the drinking water tankers arrive to cope with inefficiencies. On Wednesday 20 July, Gsp announces, they will be positioned in Piazza dei Martiri and in Piazza Duomo and will allow autonomous withdrawals, while on Wednesday 27, the tank truck will be present in Piazza Duomo.

“We are aware of the inconveniences that will arise during the execution of the works and in particular in the two days in which the supply will be interrupted for several hours”, explain the company, “this intervention, however, is indispensable and mandatory , because it will ensure benefits in the future. Today, for a minimum work in the city center, we are forced to interrupt the supply to a vast catchment area, tomorrow, thanks to the various districts that we are going to create, it will be possible to reduce the area on which to operate to the single street or portion of conduct, thus minimizing inconvenience to citizens. Afterwards, not immediately, we will proceed with the installation of digital pressure and flow meters, which will allow us not only to learn more about the daily operation of the network, but also to anticipate works and take preventive measures to preserve the state of the conducted. The districting, together with the continuous monitoring of the network, is the way of the future: we will therefore continue to invest, to increase and improve the service provided “.

DISTRICTUALIZATION OF THE NETWORK

Bim Gsp will provide for the installation of new line valves, replacing the existing ones that are outdated and also installing new ones, to improve the management of the local network. These are equipment that will allow a greater segmentation of the aqueduct pipelines into districts: this will allow, in the future, to better circumscribe the work area in the event of localized repairs or interventions, limiting to what is strictly necessary and minimizing the number of users involved in any suspension of the water supply.

TWO WEEKS OF WORK

Overall, the operation, which will begin on 18 July and will last approximately two weeks, will be structured in two phases: the first will involve the Cipro and Rialto streets and will lead to the effective suspension of the water supply on the single day of 20 July, starting at 14 until the completion of the work, presumably until late at night or early the next morning. The lack of water will affect the following areas of the city: center, including the historic center, Borgo Piave and Borgo Prà (the areas are specifically indicated as follows: https://www.bimgsp.it/news/post/2022/luglio / water-network-maintenance-works-in-belluno-on-20-July-2022). In the following two days, the road pavement will be restored, without interruptions in the water supply but with possible limitations to city traffic. The second phase will start from 25 July and will be located between the Castello and Duomo squares: the suspension of the water supply will be limited to the day of 27 July, starting at 2 pm until the completion of the works, also in this case up to late at night or early in the morning. The lack of water will only affect the historic center (also in this case the details of the affected areas can be consulted at the link: https://www.bimgsp.it/news/post/2022/luglio/lavori-manistenza-rete-idrica -in-belluno-on-27-July-2022). Over the next two days, the road surface will be restored, without water interruptions but with possible limitations on vehicular traffic.
