The Porte Voix des Sans Voix association (POSAV) and the Plurielle Organization launched this Friday, January 19, 2023 in Lomé, the 2024 edition of the Togo Mon Beau Pays poetry competition.
This national competition is aimed at pupils and students throughout the Togolese territory and aims to promote the internal consumption of tourism among young people.
The theme chosen for this edition is “the promotion of Togolese culture and tourist heritage”. The participants are asked to describe the beauty of Togo through a poem of four (4) stanzas at most or thirty-two (32) lines at most.
“By targeting young nationals, we want to make them aware of the beauty of their immediate environment and to love it. A sure voice to awaken the patriotic fiber that seems to lie dormant within them. Our country Togo is beautiful. Am I right? If yes ? Our duty is to get young people not only to become aware of it, but also to talk about it,” said BANSAH Essenam, president of the POSAV association.
She added that the choice of poetry is not only to promote the French language. “It is important for us to use this channel of communication which allows us to understand each other regardless of our ethnic origins, with the aim of providing a framework for expression of the creative potential of young people. A perfect alliance between culture and tourism for them,” said the president of the POSAV association.
Several prizes are to be won by the winners, including cash, computer equipment, training, subsidies for the establishments from which the winners come, a tourist tour as well as certificates and certificates.
Created in 2009, the POSAV association works in education and in several other areas.
