Zhang Fuqing was born in 1924 in a poor peasant family in Shuangmiao Village, Machang Town, Yang County, Hanzhong, Shaanxi. In March 1948, 24-year-old Zhang Fuqing joined the army and became a soldier of the 2nd Battalion and 6th Company of the 718 Regiment of the 359 Brigade of the former Northwest Field Army. He has always charged forward in all battles. Due to his fierce fighting, in August of that year, he was recommended by the company to join the party and became a reserve party member. Zhang Fuqing died nine times amidst the bullets and bullets of the War of Liberation. He successively won the first-class merit three times and the second-class merit once. He was recorded as “special merit” by the Northwest Field Army and won the honorary title of “battle hero” twice.
From March 1953 to December 1954, Zhang Fuqing entered the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Defense Force Culture Crash Middle School to study. When he retired from the military and changed jobs in January 1955, Zhang Fuqing resolutely obeyed the organization’s arrangement and went to work in Laifeng County, Hubei’s most remote county.

Zhang Fuqing hid fame and fame deeply, but was indifferent to fame and fortune.
