Liao Guoxun’s last media appearance was on April 25. According to a report by Tianjin Satellite TV, Tianjin held a meeting on pollution prevention and control that day.
According to public information, Liao Guoxun, male, Tujia nationality, born in February 1963, a native of Chengdu, Sichuan, was transferred from the Standing Committee of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee and the Secretary-General of the Provincial Party Committee to the Standing Committee and Organization Minister of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee in 2015; Member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee. During his tenure in Guizhou, Liao Guoxun was the former secretary of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China and the current chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the Communist Party of China, Li Zhanshu.
Liao Guoxun has served as the deputy director of the cadre deployment division of the Organization Department of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee, the director of the Third Division Secretary of the General Office of the Provincial Party Committee, and the deputy secretary-general of the Provincial Party Committee. Liao Guoxun was appointed Deputy Secretary of Tianjin Municipal Party Committee in August 2020, and Deputy Secretary of Tianjin Municipal Party Committee, Acting Mayor, Mayor, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of Tianjin Municipal Government, member of the 19th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, and representative of the 18th and 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in September.
