First meeting at Campo Coni, Pavia’s “temple” of athletics, for the Sports Table, the new body for permanent confrontation between the municipal administration and the delegates of the federations and sports promotion bodies of the city: in short, the ruling class of sporting activity, both competitive and not, at the local level. Doing the honors and coordinating the work, the councilor for sport Pietro Trivi, head – by statute and institutional role – of the table, which will also include the chairman of the sixth council commission, Rosangela Vaghi.
“Two years after the establishment of the new Fracassi council – explains the lawyer Trivi – an intense period marked by the pandemic, we wanted to create this” Table “to allow us a collegial reasoning on the main issues and criticalities of sport in Pavia, beyond beyond the individual interviews that represent the norm, also involving realities and disciplines that are perhaps less known and practiced, but no less important for this. The goal is to start a peaceful discussion, discuss, deepen topics of common interest, finding shared solutions “.
The priorities on the agenda
The priorities? «We will start from an evaluation of the systems and the criteria for assigning outdoor and indoor spaces – replies Trivi -. Then the question of sports in schools. One idea is to promote open days to introduce children to the various sports disciplines and what and where you can practice in the city. We asked each delegate to let us have their comments on the matter, we will analyze them together with the managers and staff of the Sport Office of the Municipality and we will meet with the summary of the operational proposals ». When? “Probably in September, before or close to the beginning of the new school year, but I do not exclude that we can meet again before August”.
In the email addressed in April to announce the establishment of the “network” of comparison, it was clarified that its purpose is to «promote a coordinated and continuous dialogue between the institutional subjects involved»; then the commitment to “operate concretely and sustainably through periodic meetings”.
