The Italian Volleyball Federation has set the starting dates for the 2021/2022 season. Barring unforeseen events dictated by Covid-19, both in women’s B1 series and in national B men’s series and regional C and D series, men’s and women’s, it should start on Saturday 16 October, with postponements on Sunday 17.
At the end of August the calendars of the B1 female and B male series will be drawn up, with Volpianese and Alto Canavese respectively knowing their destiny, while at the beginning of September it will be the turn of the C and D series. in men’s B: the resumption of training, under the orders of coach Fabio Matteotti, will take place on Thursday 2 September, as confirmed by the same coach from Aosta: “We will resume training at home, at PalaCuorgnè and, as we have done in the other years, we will then even a few days of retreat in Valle d’Aosta, in Valtournenche – says Matteotti -. Compared to past seasons, however, we will change the preparation methods, in full agreement with our athletic trainer Luca Ponchia: we will do less strength, therefore less weights and more aerobic part, this to have more resistance throughout the entire season, which we hope can start and finish regularly, without any particular formulas, as happened during the last season. We decided to change the preparation method because over the course of the championship we want to be more constant especially on a physical level and above all to be in shape when we enter the hot part of the season, where the points begin to be important for the definition of a goal. As every year – continues Matteotti – the goal at the beginning of the season is to reach a peaceful salvation first of all, then once we hit it, we could aim higher. We are expecting a very demanding and difficult season, because we still don’t know what the real strength of the other teams that will be included in our group will be ». For the market situation, in the Alto Canavese house, the first shots are expected in the coming days, now still in the definition phase where the details are being filed, given that the company has decided to lower the average age (from 30 to 22 years old) and there will be many new faces. –
