Rome, June 29, 2022 – Arrested ad Athens one of the protagonists of the clashes during the ‘Day of Indignation’ in Rome on 15 October 2011. GD, 39-year-old Milanese anarchist-insurrectionistwas sought after in that sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment for devastation, looting and damage, crimes committed on the occasion of violent clashes against the police, culminating in the assault and fire of a carabinieri vehicle in Piazza San Giovanni.

During the event there were numerous clashes, looting and damage along the streets of the historic center of the capital. The arrest follows the issuance of a prison order issued by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Rome, with the support of the International Police Cooperation Service (SCIP) of the Central Directorate of the Criminal Police, which operated abroad through the European Network Fugitive Active Search Teams (ENFAST).

The detention order became enforceable on May 24, 2022, when the Court of Cassation confirmed the sentence against the insurrectionist activist. The anarchist was stopped in the center of Athens. The identification of the fugitive has matured in the context of the investigations of Ros against the anarcho-insurrectionist context. The 39-year-old had been the object of attention from the Ros of Milan, where he had lived in recent times. The man had also emerged in the capital for frequenting the Occupied Bencivenga social center, where some anarchist militants currently on trial gravitated, as they were believed to be members of an insurrectionist cell accused of numerous direct actions in Rome and throughout the national territory.
