In race 1 the Serenese also fought for a long time for fourth place in the Czech Republic. Today he is looking for an encore in Superpole and in race 2 (live Sky at 11 and 15.15)

Best result of the season for Axel Bassani. Riding the Ducati, yesterday afternoon the Serenese won a fifth place in Race 1 in the Czech Republic Grand Prix, valid for the Superbike World Championship.

In a race characterized by several crashes, the rider from Seren remained in the saddle, got behind riders of a certain caliber and crossed the finish line first among the independent teams participating in the championship.

It is the second time that Axel has managed to finish first in this particular ranking. Bassani started from the tenth place, the result of the position conquered in the Superpole of the morning, but lap after lap he managed to climb up to fifth place fighting with top riders with great experience.

The race was won by Razgatlioglu, riding a Yamaha, who won the confrontation in the final laps against Redding. Locatelli placed himself on the third step of the podium, while Rinaldi reached the fourth position after a battle against Bassani.

Superpole winner Rea on Kawasaki did not reach the finish line, starring in a double crash that forced him to retire. With this victory Razgatlioglu further shortens the ranking, approaching the Englishman who is now only twelve points away. The world leader crashed nine laps from the end during the fight against the Turkish rider, despite this he managed to restart in ninth position but was knocked out again a few laps later.

At the moment Bassani is in the middle of the championship with 71 points, not bad for the youngest rider on the track, born in 1999, in his first experience in Superbike.
