Leonardo Candi is a new player from Bertram Tortona. The playmaker has signed a three-year contract, until June 2025. Born in Bologna on March 30, 1997, he takes his first steps in the companies Giocare Insieme and Polisportiva Lame, before moving to Fortitudo Bologna where the youth sector continues. Candi made his debut in the first team in 2013/14, in Dnb, while the following year he was the starting point guard of the formation that won the B2. In 2015/16 he averaged 7.5 points and was elected best under 22 of the Serie A2 championship. With Fortitudo he reaches the final promotion, lost against Brescia in the fifth and decisive match. He remains in Bologna also in the following year, contributing to the success in the Super Cup, the first trophy of the season. In that season, Fortitudo then reached the semi-final promotion, where they were eliminated by Trieste 3-2. In the summer of 2017 Leonardo moved to Reggio Emilia, in Serie A, a team with which he signed a five-year contract. Since his first year in the top flight, Candi has an important role in the Reggio roster. In 2017/18 he takes the field both in the championship and in the Eurocup, averaging 3 points per game. In the following seasons Leonardo made his own contribution to the achievement of the salvation of Reggio Emilia, becoming captain of the team starting from 2020. In the year just ended, under the guidance of the Pavia coach Attilio Caja, he recorded his maximum in Serie A for points per race (8.8) in the 13 regular season matches played.
