First public release by Nicolò Fagioli to talk about his experience after the disqualification for betting at the headquarters ofOrder of Psychologists of Turin. The Juventus midfielder is following a therapeutic plan of recovery

which provides that Fagioli “will have to participate in a therapeutic plan lasting at least 6 months and in a cycle of at least 10 public meetings, to be held over a 5 month period, at amateur sports associations, federal territorial centres, centers for recovery from addiction to gambling, and in any case according to the indications and program proposed by the FIGC”. Fagioli was accompanied by Dr. Giuseppe Vercelli, psychologist of the Juventus. The club has always been very close to the player, who admitted his responsibility for betting on football events and on illegal platforms. In the sports justice system, Fagioli has negotiated with the federal prosecutor a sanction which includes 12 months of disqualification (starting from last October 20th), 5 of which were commuted to alternative prescriptions and a fine of 12,500 euros, for the violation of article 24 of the Sports Justice Code. A significant reduction compared to the minimum sanction of 3 years, thanks to the complete collaboration with the prosecutor’s office and the willingness to cure himself of gambling addiction. Following Fagioli is Dr. Paolo Jarre, one of the leading Italian experts on issues related to pathological gambling, who will follow him on his recovery journey.
