CASTEL GANDOLFO (ROME)
Brilliant result for the eighteen year old Gabriele Casadei from Canavese, who qualifies for the European Championships.
The canoeist from Candia, registered with the Fiamme Oro State Police, obtained in Castelgandolfo the first place in the C1 category on 1,000 meters and the second position in the 200 meters.
The Canoe European Championships will take place in Poland, in Poznan, from Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th June. An exceptional result, the result of constant training on the waters of Lake Candia, together with his now former companions of the Canoa Candia: “I prepared my best to be able to face the national selections on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 June in Castel Gandolfo, Province of Rome, in the best way and I am very satisfied especially with the 1,000 meters race – says Casadei -. Having obtained the first place in this race, which I particularly cared about, I had already acquired by right the pass for the Europeans (by regulation the first three classified in each category entered), but I did not want to be satisfied and also in the test of 200 meters I wanted to give my all to try to finish in front of everyone. In this race, however, I had to settle for second place. Now head to the Europeans – says Casadei – knowing full well that I will have to work hard in these days to be at my best in Poland ».
Canoa Candia was also present at the national under 23 selection in Castel Gandolfo, which obtained a fourth place with Maria Vittoria Bazzarone in the 500-meter K1 test, while in the same race Martina Hrabanov finished seventh. Finally, Bazzarone and Hrabanov, again in K1 tests, but from 200 meters, crossed the finish line respectively in ninth and seventh position. –
