Torre del Greco, 11 April 2022 – Una brawl in the Neapolitan area it ends in tragedy. It happens last night a Torre del Greco (Naples), Leopardi district, around 10.50 pm. From a quarrel probably triggered by futile reasons, a violent struggle is triggered. A 19 year old boy, Giovanni Guarino, is hit by a stab in the heart and dies. A friend of his, the same age, is injured and is hospitalized in serious condition at the Maresca hospital. The protagonists of the tragic brawl were immediately stopped by the police: they are two minors from Torre Annunziata, both 17 years old. As far as we know, the four knew each other.
The first reconstructions of the investigators speak of a verbal quarrel between the boys. The fuse lights up at a party held in an area where some private rides have been set up for days. A parking lot used for amusement park. And the party itself would be the subject of the discussion that leads to a fight when the knives come out. The victim is hit in the heart by a blow: there is nothing for him to do, he dies shortly after arriving at the hospital. The peer is hit in various parts of the body: rescue, he is also rushed to the Maresca where he undergoes a delicate surgery. He is now on a reserved prognosis, but he is not in danger of life. Police officers promptly arrived on the scene who, after having collected the testimonies and put together the useful elements, already in the night proceeded to stop the two minors, believed to be the alleged perpetrators of the fatal stabbing. The agents are taking images of video surveillance cameras in the area to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the dispute and the fatal injury. The coordination of the investigations now passes to the Naples prosecutor’s office.
Outside the Maresca hospital, about eighty relatives and friends of the boys who were victims of the fight arrived during the night. In the excitement of the moment, a plasterboard wall and some glass doors were damaged. However, no attacks on medical or surveillance personnel were recorded.
