OLEVANO SUL TUSCIANO – Fifteen years old, student from Olevano sul Tusciano, two times champion of Italy Schoolboys and winner in the 52 kg (unfortunately, nowadays, we go by weight and no longer by categories) of the last international tournament “Alberto Mura” in Roseto degli Abruzzi, Gaetano Buonocore leaves today for Georgia where the European Junior Championships will take place in the Tbilisi ring until 12 July.
Gaetano, it is good to write it immediately, is a promising talent of Salerno boxing and if his teacher Fioravante Calce will continue to devote himself to him as he has done up to now, the future can only be bright. 1.76 tall, in physical and mental growth, he has an excellent quality and very spontaneous boxing with natural strokes and feints, which can be completed with the gym and with maturity. He is a champion and, if he is lucky and willing to sacrifice himself, we will find him more and more at the top of the national youth movement. We’ll see. Master Calce puts both hands on the fire on the seriousness and enthusiasm of the boy.
What is certain is that the results obtained from 2019 to today are relevant. Fourteen matches and one defeat. “But the judges caught a crab that evening,” says the athlete from Olevano sul Tusciano. “I had won, then the filth no longer occurred because I understood that in the ring you have to stay ahead of your opponent from the first to the last shot”.
