Yesterday, when he blew out his first 16 candles, the spiker class 2005 Spes Belluno, who passed through the Treviso youth teams, before joining the Trentino Volley with which he won the Boy League in 2018, will certainly have thought back to these days. Starting from the Superlega evening on Wednesday, when the promising Sedicense volleyball player was called up by coach Lorenzetti to wear the second free jersey in the match 4 of the championship semifinals played (and lost 3-0) against Civitanova.
The day before last night, the name of Bristot, flanked by the number 13, appeared next to those of Giannelli (who, up to 48 hours ago, held the record for the youngest player to have landed in the first team in Trento), Lucarelli, Lisinac, Nimir, Kooy, Podrascanin, Rossini, Michieletto, Sosa Sierra, Sperotto, Argenta, Cortesia and De Angelis.
“Monday morning I was at the airport”, reveals Bristot, “just back from Wevza, the national team tournament that we won as Italy, when Riccardo Michieletto (also a hitter until he played, before moving on to the current role) called me team manager of Trentino volley, ed) and told me that on Wednesday he wanted me here in Superlega. He gave me this gift and my legs were shaking. Going down with these guys on the pitch, then, is an indescribable emotion. They are great, they keep you in the group, it is a truly unique sensation ».
On Sunday, in Vibo Valentia, the under 17 national team, driven by Bristot (over 50 individual points spread over five matches played and won), had won the qualifying tournament for the July European Championships in Albania. «We proved to be a great group», Alessandro acknowledges, «a great team, with great talent. Even in that case it was an indescribable emotion, even if we only won one qualifying tournament. Now we only have our heads for the European Championship in July ».
In the current year Bristot was used with great continuity in the A3 team (in fact the Juniores team of Trentino volley of A1). A year in which the Belluno hammer has forged ahead. And the next one? «You skip the steps quickly», he admits, «and you have to keep your head down and work without getting high. At 17 I always see myself in the world of volleyball. I don’t want to give false hope. But I always hope for the best ».
Before Bristot, other promising talents from the Trentino nursery, such as Bonatesta in race 1 and race 3 and Pol in race 2, had had the opportunity to appear on the Superlega stage in the previous games of the championship semifinal series.
