PAVIA

A day of celebration to pay homage to Ticino with a parade of canoes, dragon boats, Sup and barcé on the occasion of the 51st edition of the Vigevano-Pavia Canoe Marathon. After having celebrated on Saturday the success in the very classic canoe marathon from Vigevano to Pavia, on Sunday in the circuit test – also organized by Canottieri Ticino – to triumph at the end of the 23 km course was once again the Hungarian Gabor Aranyiosi who with a masterful test dominated the race from start to finish. Aranyosi, the Hungarian national canoe marathon, preceded Felipe Pereira (Portugal) and Lorenzo Romeo (Cus Milano) at the finish.

The other races

In the good test of K2, the derby between Cus Pavia and Cus Milano was resolved in favor of Davide Marzani and Matteo Arzani from Pavia, who in the middle of the race detached the Milanese crew (then forced to retire) reaching the finish line alone. In the women’s competition, the blue Camilla Toraldo of the Circolo Canottieri Aniene won the Senior category. Among the Juniors Mattias Minen (Rowing Club Timavo) ranked first, thus winning the trophy in memory of Filippo Vidali. Behind him were classified Luigi Santangelo and Stefano Casacca of the Canottieri Ticino.

Canottieri also celebrated the hat-trick of K2 Ragazzi with Federico Ardigò and Andrea Tagliani in first place, while among the Juniors Jonathan Allen and Giovanni Penasa of Cus Pavia dominated, with Canottieri third with Matteo Bazzano and Tommaso Albini. For women, the Cus also celebrated Elena Sacchi’s gold among the Juniors.

Away for a day from the Canadian canoe, Enrico Calvi won the gold medal in K2 Master paired with the paracanoe champion from Pavia Angelo Lova.

In the Zanzadrago Festival, the Canottieri Ticino experienced for the second year the internal challenge between two blue and white boats, where the crew of captain Mattia Bosio won.

Among the barcé the Pavesi rowers remained undefeated once again thanks to the excellent performance of Elia Belli and Alessandro Bacciocchi, who for the fourth year in a row won the race, while Marcella Ilardi and Claudio Bruni conquered the first place in the Mixed category .

To win the Marino Valle award for the Gran Barcé Valter Bergamaschi and Guido Corsato of Battellieri Colombo. Together with the barcé, Canottieri Ticino wanted to pay homage to the 70th anniversary of the covered bridge, with the work of the artist from Pavia Stefano Bressani, who paraded on the water escorted by the boats that have always represented the essence of the blue river.

Returning to the competitions, Andrea Scianna imposed himself with authority in the race dedicated to Sup. Finally, in the canoagiovani, the under 14s of Cus and Canottieri showed off tomorrow’s talents by competing on their home river from the Lido to the Canottieri.
