The two athletes who grew up in the Sedico Skating Club are now training in Vazzola. They will compete on Saturday night with the blue shirt
Two skaters from Belluno and a ticket to fly to Paraguay. Tomorrow the plane that will take Martina Casanova and Laura Dal Bò to the world of roller skating in Asunción will take off. They will participate with the colors of the Italian national team.
A few weeks ago the two athletes who grew up at the Sedico Skating Club took part in the European Figure Roller Skating Championships in Lleida, Spain, winning a splendid second place with the Vazzola Show Roller Team.
Martina and Laura have been training in Vazzola for a couple of years, but they continue to be part of the group of coaches of the Skating club of Sedico, for which they follow both competitive and amateur teams. The two Belluno skaters come down to the province of Treviso at least four times a week to train.
They had qualified for the European Championships in Spain with a choreography entitled Rebirth. Now, the great opportunity to have their say overseas. The expedition will start tomorrow, while the athletes will compete on Saturday 9th (when in Italy it will be around one in the morning).
For the occasion, the municipal administration of Sedicense also sent a congratulatory message to the company.
«Knowing that the athletes so linked to Sedico will represent the tricolor in a context of this importance», comments the councilor for sport of the municipality of Sedico, Sebastiano Casoni, «is a source of pride for me and the whole community. We know that results like these do not come by chance, but are the result of commitment, sacrifice, sweat and passion, the same passion with which we owe a strong good luck to Martina and Laura and to the whole team ».
In the meantime, the activities of the Sedico Skating club continue, which will soon expand its activities outside the municipal boundaries.
«We are starting with the new season and with new projects», explains the president, Francesca Iaria, «also expanding the basin by extending ourselves to the municipality of Limana. We will also open a group there, from 14 October, while here in Sedico we have already started with the courses that we are currently carrying out at the Mas since the Palaskating is occupied by the vaccination center. The balance of the year is positive. «Despite the difficulties», Iaria has already explained, «the Skating Club Sedico has managed to win a lot of satisfactions. A great deal was the commitment of the board of directors to revive the excitement of a resumption of sport in Sedico, for example by organizing the regional championships for entertainment groups ».
