There is immense sadness for the story and it is a defeat for everyone. These are the bitter words of the now former La Chivasso coach, Manuel Lami in commenting on the official withdrawal of the company from all the FIGC championships, due to serious economic problems especially related to the users to which the red and white club was no longer able to make front. “When I arrived in Chivasso last June I knew about the situation, but we were all convinced that the difficulties could be overcome, also because no one could expect that a club with one hundred and two years of existence could close overnight – says Lami -. At the end of August (20) we gathered to start the preparation and on Sunday 12 September we also started the championship. After playing only one game, during the week the owners announced that they were working on a new change, then the situation worsened on the eve of the match against Ponderano, scheduled for Sunday 26 September. The sporting director of the club Roberto Ferrara informed us that we would not leave for the Biella trip – explains Lami – then the press release the following week that the company withdrew from the FIGC championships. Therefore, not only the first team, but also the formations of the under 19 to the under 14 would no longer have continued the championship. This is certainly a very sad page not only for the city of Chivasso, but for all of Canavese football, unfortunately the situation that arose had become really heavy and was no longer sustainable. Too bad, from the players, to the technical staff and to all the managers in these days there is only great bitterness ».
On the future of the Chivassese club, at the moment the freshman is still active, La Chivasso will close the season by regulation in last place in group B of the First category, with consequent relegation to the Second category, then it could restart in the 2021/2022 season from the Third category, hoping that in the meantime in this situation we can see a glimmer of light, but never as in this delicate case the conditional is a must. –
