The Beijing Team Wins Figure Skating Competition at 14th National Winter Games
In the highly anticipated figure skating (open group) team competition at the 14th National Winter Games, the Beijing team emerged as the victorious champions. On February 22nd, the Beijing team showcased their unparalleled skills and talent, securing the gold medal in the team competition. Their outstanding performance in four events propelled them to the top position, leaving their competitors in awe of their prowess on the ice.
The ice dance combination of Wang Shiyue and Liu Xinyu of the Beijing team wowed the crowd with their impressive free dance, earning them the highest score of 113.04 points. Additionally, Jin Boyang, the leader of China’s men’s figure skating, delivered a stellar performance to take the lead in the men’s singles skating event, securing a high score of 169.57. Despite facing recent health challenges, Jin Boyang remained determined and expressed his hope to use the team competition to prepare for the individual competition ahead.
In the men’s youth ice hockey event, the Hong Kong team unfortunately suffered a 1:3 defeat at the hands of the host Inner Mongolia team. The Hong Kong team put up a valiant effort, but ultimately came up short against their opponents. Despite this loss, the Hong Kong team has achieved 2 wins and 1 loss in the group stage, positioning them as formidable contenders as they move forward in the competition.
In addition to figure skating and ice hockey, other winter sports at the 14th National Winter Games have garnered attention and excitement.
