The Niguarda hospital in Milan has released the first medical bulletin on Johnny Carera, the manager of Pogacar and Nibali who was the victim of a very serious accident on the A4 motorway at Agrate Brianza last night around 11.50pm. His car was hit by a truck, driven by a clearly drunk Polish driver, who had made a U-turn on the motorway occupying all four lanes.
It reads: “The patient reported important poly traumas following the accident. The clinical conditions are very serious. Admitted to intensive care in deep sedation. The prognosis is reserved “. Alex Carera, the brother, adds: “The perforation of the left lung is serious, Johnny cannot breathe unless he is attached to the car. He is in a medically induced coma. The lung, hit by numerous broken ribs, has collapsed and there is a very important blood bag ”.
