The little road Andrea D’Amato, under 23 at the top of Iseo Rime, is the first from Pavia to impose himself after 67 years of history in the Gp «Città di Sannazzaro, the only amateur race in the provincial seasonal calendar, organized by the local cycling team.

D’Amato put the seal on a spectacular race with a photocopy success compared to the one obtained on Saturday at the Giro del Medio Po. Another courageous three-way escape with his bursting winning sprint to seal the last emotion of the day.

Andrea, a boy who grew up in “Il Branco” by Stradella, was the protagonist of an escape of over 80 kilometers shared with two other adventure companions; then the winning sprint, without history. «I had good sensations – he said at the end of the race – I was on the run with teammates who proved to have a good leg. I staged a long sprint imposing myself on my rivals with a good margin ».

On the third of the 23 laps scheduled, the starting point of Andrea Galli del Mendrisio, joined in succession by Andrea Gatti (Gallina Ecotek), Samuel La Torre (Northwave) and by D’Amato himself. Galli then lost contact from the leading quartet and the three leaders began a breakaway that led them to accumulate an advantage of 2’40 over the group, the margin then diminished lap after lap until the small gap of four seconds on the bulk of the platoon in full comeback. «We have never shivered – however, the Stradellino talent clarifies – keeping the group at a safe distance».
