Ddl Zan, Antonella Clerici live on Rai 1: “Too bad, we lost an opportunity”

by admin

The sinking of the Zan Bill in the Senate has collected many messages of indignation from celebrities, who have decided to publicly expose their dissent through social channels or traditional media. Among these is Antonella Clerici, who in today’s episode of «It’s always noon» used the television screens to have her say.

“Sin for civil rights”: Antonella Clerici’s outburst on live TV for the stop of the Zan bill

Between gold medals at the Olympics, victories in the most disparate Europeans, Eurovision and Nobel, 2021 could be the great year for Italy. But the victories ended here, given the defeat of the Zan Ddl and the reaction of some politicians. Thus, after mentioning the Maneskin and their progressive ascent into the world of music, he declared: «The phenomenon of the moment are the Italians. We won everything: sports, sweets, panettone, the Nobel Prize for physics. We are at the top! Too bad for civil rights because we missed an opportunity. But that’s another story ».

Also on Twitter, the presenter clearly reiterated her point of view:

The symbolic presenter of Italian popular television has been publicly active on LGBTQ + issues for some time and once again she has decided to take sides openly. Furthermore, its live broadcast on Rai1 is typically aimed at an audience that is not very young, but at an audience of more adult people, usually less open to civil rights issues.

Already some time before, Clerici had invited chef Chloe Facchini on the broadcast, who told her transition path live. «Here the families listen to us a lot – said the presenter – and you often know, there is this prudery, this shame of not wanting to talk about it. Instead we must help our children to be as they really are, whatever their nature: it is a nature that must come out to make them happy. Because in the end, what we want is for our children to be happy ».

Good for her ! Many Italians watch the show and respect Antonella from her days on La Prova Di Cuoco.Sadly, I applaud her 100% ! Sadly,Italy lags behind the rest of the E.U. in granting equal rights and protections to LGBT citizens; including same-sex marriage, adoptions by gay couples and legal protections in housing, employment, etc. Italian citizens are well aware of the story of Alex, a gay man harassed, bullied and terrorized in his Torino condo complex with his partner for being gay. Italy is in line with such places like Poland, Hungary and Russia in Eastern Europe with dismal human rights records and horrific homophobic policies.
