On Sunday he returns to the city, Naples, where he coached for four years, taking many satisfactions, including two Italian Cups won, but Piero Bucchi’s head will certainly be elsewhere: the Dinamo coach is in a hurry to see the team again that up to a few weeks ago he made shooting percentages and nastiness in the highlights his favorite weapons. And he knows that in this moment the performance of the biancoblù cannot ignore the physical situation of Gerald Robinson, who took the field in very precarious conditions against Venice, who took advantage of it in a cynical way. Playing without the Nashville “elf” such a delicate match, against a GeVi Napoli that after a super start to the season now discovers the insane fear of retreating, is a risk that is not worth taking.
“Robinson has not recovered completely – explained Bucchi yesterday in the Dinamo clubhouse presenting the match on Sunday – but the groin ultrasound gave a positive result and from tomorrow (today, ndc) he should train with the others”. Yesterday the play resumed running in a differentiated way with the coach. Regarding the situation of the US athlete, Bucchi affirms that «he will not be at 100 per cent, considering the stop, but being of a“ small size ”he should recover quickly».
As for the match, the Banco di Sardegna coach does not hide the fact that «it will certainly be complicated, against a team with so much talent and which in the first round was the surprise of the championship. Then Napoli lost a few games, but the value is undeniable and with the addition of Luca Vitali and more recently of Gudaitis it is very dangerous ». GeVi who, however, is seriously risking the category in a regular season finale in which anything can still happen, both for access to the playoffs and to avoid relegation. And under Vesuvius the race with Sassari, who still hopes to take fourth place and in any case confirm the current sixth position, becomes a matter of life or death. «They are aiming to be sold-out – says Bucchi – a demanding race awaits us which we are preparing at best. They are forced to look back and look for the points they need to stay in Serie A, we are aware that a misstep could be dangerous ».
But the anger that the Campania players will put on the field with Dinamo “is ours too – explains the coach – since we too come from a defeat and we are angry”. Certainly for him it will not be a race like all the others: “I spent four very beautiful years in Naples, with the successes in the Italian Cup, the promotion, the Euroleague … It’s nice to be back in a city where I not only lived, but I worked with great fun and satisfaction and where we have done very good things, it will be an opportunity to greet many friends that I have not seen for a long time. I have very good memories and it will be a special day for me. But after the duo you forget everything ».
What is expected is a different approach compared to the last three games, in which the shooting percentages were lowered and there was a drop in tension in the final. In these cases the coach becomes a psychologist: «They are all sorry for the knockout with Reyer, the players care. But they are mature guys and they know that we are in an important moment of the season, I would be surprised if I know them, and this will give us a special charge.
