Dinamo ended 2021 with growth. Are you satisfied?
“In general, yes, because we have recovered from a bad period, but it is clear that we are still a work in progress and we certainly didn’t need this stop”.
In what sense?
“We are improving but we are still looking for the right chemistry. After the good performance in Bologna and the victories against Venice and Varese, we wanted to test the situation a bit because we had found some balance. Now let’s see what will happen: we are waiting to understand how to move, we are a little worried but the Covid problem at the moment affects practically all the teams “.
The ascent began with the arrival of Bucchi. Was the change of bench necessary?
“We absolutely needed to find an identity, we needed a shock and a reaction”.
What did Bucchi bring?
«First of all we found a bit of balance on the pitch with the arrival of Robinson, who put the game in order and I think it showed, because he knows how to trigger his teammates both on the perimeter and inside the area. As for the coach, his mantra has always been defense. He makes us work a lot on team play, we lacked defense until a while ago. In attack he lightened the load a little, giving more freedom to individuals and assigning us simpler games ».
What else does he ask of you?
“Ask us for attention and consistency for 40 minutes. This is what we lack in order to be in position as Dinamo and it is a key he beats a lot on: he says that Dinamo must play “when they grow up”, because this has been their position in recent years ».
In Bologna you fought until the last shot, in Venice you won, with Varese you risked big but you took it home. The mental aspect also had its weight.
«We took off the” monkey “a bit, we had the problem of not being able to give the paw, we had a little negativity on us. The response from Bologna was important, it was a game of character; and winning in Venice against a black beast and on a difficult field gave us motivation and awareness. We also know that there is a lot to do, as the match against Varese demonstrates ».
Another novelty was to bring the whole bench back to the center of the project, including her and Chessa.

«Yes, because every player always wants to play 40 ‘, but I have no regrets: it is a role that I accepted and I am happy to have played it, among other things taking away great satisfaction and raising two captain trophies. I am convinced that I can still keep on the pitch, in training I have always had confirmation, and that is why after breaking my knee a year ago, I decided to continue. I still want to give my contribution to Dinamo ».
