March 31, 2024 – On the second anniversary of the Beijing Winter Olympics, the city’s enthusiasm for ice and snow sports is heating up once again. As part of the celebrations, the newly unveiled Beijing Olympic Museum welcomed a series of important visitors and received generous donations from champion athletes.

Recent additions to the museum include table tennis rackets used by champion athlete Deng Yaping, as well as the competition uniform worn by short track speed skater Wu Dajing during the Winter Olympics. The museum’s upgrade and renovation were completed in time for the anniversary, and it reopened with an enhanced exhibition space.

The opening of the museum coincided with the first “Double Olympics Culture Lecture” which focused on the cultural power and future development of museums. Leaders from the International Olympic Committee and Beijing Olympic City Development Promotion Association discussed the important role of museums in promoting cultural inheritance and innovation.

In addition to the museum reopening, ice and snow sports continue to gain popularity as the Beijing Winter Olympics legacy lives on. Venues such as the National Stadium and the National Speed Skating Stadium have been open to the public free of charge, attracting millions of visitors over the past two years.

The National Aquatics Center and the National Speed Skating Stadium have launched ice and snow cultural activities, including figure skating, outdoor ice and snow entertainment, and study winter camps. The Beijing Summer Palace Ice Rink has transformed into a “top-notch” ice rink, attracting thousands of visitors and creating a new wave of ice and snow enthusiasm.
