Bologna, 1 July 2021 – First significant extension of Max Verstappen in the world rankings of Formula 1. And this weekend is the Austrian GP. The victory in the dominant Styrian GP gives the Dutchman 18 points ahead of the reigning champion Lewis Hamilton. Red Bull’s superiority at Spielberg is clear and after a week, still on the same circuit, a response from Mercedes is expected. Then there is the fight for third place manufacturers, which involves the Ferrari, doubled but growing in Austria at least compared to competitors. Sainz e Leclerc they will have to try to earn points on Norris and Mclaren.
Summary
Same track as last weekend, or the Red Bull Ring which therefore hosts two consecutive races. The circuit is located in Spielberg in Austria and was created in 1970. It was originally built inside the Zeltweg airport then modified in 1995 by the architect Hermann Tilke to make it more modern and functional. It measures 4,318 meters and is characterized by long straights and difficult braking sections. Possibility of overtaking in turn 1, turn 3 and turn 4. Drs zones on the pit straight, on the next straight towards turn 3 and also on the extension leading to turn 4. In the race, 71 laps will be covered for a total of 306 kilometers. Maximum speed of 330 hours.
Three days of testing, qualifying and racing on the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, starting on Friday with Free Practice 1 at 11.30 and Free 2 at 15, Saturday Free 3 at 12 and Qualifying at 15, race on Sunday at 15. All live on Sky Sport Formula 1, Sky channel 207, and in streaming on Sky Go.

It has been competing in Spielberg since the late 1960s, first in Zeltweg and then at the Red Bull Ring, which in the 1990s was called A1 Ring. Three Ferrari victories from 1997 to 2003, two by Schumi and one of Irvine, three by Mclaren and one by Williams, then paused for ten years to return to 2015. Five Mercedes and three Red Bull victories in the last eight races.
