First snow of the season in Falcade, in the Belluno Dolomites (Ansa)

Belluno, 1 November 2021 – First snow on Belluno Dolomites and South Tyrol, to the Brenner Pass and to the Resia Pass. The snow came with the arrival of the first Atlantic disturbance of the month, and it also fell at medium altitudes since the late afternoon.

In the Dolomite area, intense snowfalls continued even in the evening: the rain turned to snow starting from 1400/1500 meters of altitude. First whitewashed for the Belluno ski resorts such as Arabba, Malga Ciapela, Misurina and Selva di Cadore. Also reported a heavy snowfall, still in progress, at the San Pellegrino Pass, the pass that connects Moena with Falcade.

Snowfall also in South Tyrol. Even here since late afternoon it is snowing to the Brenner Pass and to the Resia Pass, the two important Alpine passes that connect Italy with Austria. Rainfall reached around 1400 meters.

And that’s just the beginning: from tomorrow morning in the eastern Dolomites, in the high mountains, they are expected until to 30 centimeters of snow.
