The Geovillage disappeared from the scenarios, the biancoblù could choose Aritzo and then continue the pre-season in Sassari
SASSARI. The historic summer base closed indefinitely, an important reference point set aside for the moment and a summer road map to be invented. A little more than a month before the start of the new season, Dinamo is working to plan the pre-season, with a table that will necessarily be upset compared to the last decade.
Farewell Olbia. Nine years in a row at the Geovillage, but this summer there will be no tenth. The closure of the Gallura resort, at the center of a complicated legal matter, will deprive the Banco di Sardegna – and many other sports clubs – of a structure with which the biancoblù, in particular, by now had a consolidated bond: from services related to hospitality to those of a purely operational type, such as the gym, swimming pool and sports hall, Dinamo had found the ideal base for their retreats since 2012. With the road all downhill for the organization of high-level friendly tournaments and, last year, the creation of the “bubble” for the mini-tournament valid as the first round of the Super Cup. It is precisely from this point of view that the main questions now arise.
Plan B. The new Dinamo, which will play the Serie A championship for the twelfth consecutive year, should choose Aritzo as the venue for the very first days of retreat (maximum one week), which as already experienced in the past is an ideal location for athletic work “a dry ”on the soccer field and for the one in the pool. At that point the club led by Stefano Sardara will have to decide on which field to continue: considering that what the coach, staff and players will need will essentially be a standard parquet and a gym – in addition, possibly, to a mild climate -, the There are several options: from Alghero to Nuoro, up to Oristano, without excluding the PalaSerradimigni option, which is still accessible inside. The Bormio option, the deja vu of the nineties, seems to be excluded.
The date. To slow down the operations there is the wait linked to the dates of the Super Cup, the first phase of which will take place in early September with four groups of three teams, and four qualified by right to the Final Eight. Dinamo could decide to play their matches in Piazzale Segni.
Cagliari is there. Whatever happens, for Sardinia it will not be a summer without great basketball. Once the appointment with the Geovillage trophy evaporated, the regional Coni and the Fip, led respectively by Bruno Perra and Tore Serra, are working to set up the City of Cagliari trophy, which in the last decade has brought the best of basketball to the island European.
