Witnesses recorded a video with a mobile phone . On Thursday (April 14), the San Francisco security department announced the start of an investigation into the incident.
The video shows Mike Tyson turning and leaning over the back of his seat, repeatedly hitting an unidentified man sitting behind him in the head, and can be seen until blood splattered. The video was first shared by the TMZ website.

The TMZ website said the video was filmed on a Jet Blue flight from SAN Francisco International Airport bound for Florida.
In an email to The Associated Press, a representative for Tyson explained: “Unfortunately, Mr. Tyson was involved in an accident on a flight. While Tyson was in his seat, an aggressive passenger Constantly harassing him and throwing water bottles at him.”
In the video, the man can be seen standing behind Tyson’s seat, waving his arms constantly and saying something fiercely, before the physical confrontation. And the former boxer sat quietly.
San Francisco police responded to a “physical confrontation” on the plane at the domestic terminal after being called at about 10 p.m. Wednesday (April 13), local officials said.
In a statement on Thursday, police said: “Police arrived and detained two persons believed to be involved in this incident. One injured person was treated at the scene and his life is not in danger. The persons involved are minimally involved. provided details about the incident and declined to cooperate further with the police investigation.”
Both have been released pending further investigation, the statement said.
Another passenger on the plane, Sarah Burchfield, revealed in relation to the incident that she had seen the man who Tyson had beaten in an airport bar, and he appeared to be making a lot of noise.
“When I got on the plane and I saw the man, I thought, ‘Oh, no, that drunk guy got on our plane too,’ Birchfield told the SFGate. ‘”
Birchfield said she passed Tyson’s first-class seat when she boarded the plane.
“The loud guy was sitting right behind him, and I saw them interacting,” she said. After a while, she heard the first class scuffle.
San Mateo County police said the video has been obtained by the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, which has jurisdiction over the airport.
“We will not release specific information about the incident as this is an ongoing investigation,” the sheriff’s official said.
JetBlue did not immediately respond to emails seeking more details.
