Continuing our journey to discover the youth sectors, we arrive in Cividale, land of the Forum Julii, a company founded 15 years ago between the merger of the Cividalese and Gaglianese.

Last season saw the completion of 50 years of activity for the Gaglianese while, in two years, the Cividalese will turn 100. Under the leadership of the President Andrea Giorgiutti and the supervision of the general manager Luigi Ferraro, there are 230 total members, including managers, first team and youth sector.

Youth sector, in particular, characterized by the presence of 140 young people. Number of members who, despite Covid has slowed everyone down a bit, shows signs of recovery. Therefore, despite the fact that the company remained stationary during the initial part of the pandemic, the number of members is up by about 40% compared to the past season.

An increase that also reflects the commitment of the company in the Natisone area, having training in all categories, from the Little Friends to the Juniors. Among the activities carried out last Summer, there were three Camps, dedicated to children between 5 and 14 years: two held in the Forum Julii sports center and one in Gagliano, with also a Camp carried out in collaboration with the goalkeeping school Cortiula in Cividale.

The corporate objective should be underlined: to become a reference point for the surrounding area, having also started collaborations with ASD Millennium and with Torreanese. Another goal, on a three-year plan, is to bring as many young people as possible into the first team. After only two years there are already five players in the orbit of the greatest, including a class of 2004 who has already played 10 games as a starter out of 15 played.

The need to have over-quota from the youth sector has therefore led the Forum Julii to anticipate the times.

The general manager Luigi Ferraro also talks about the company objectives: «We are building and doing something important with the youth sector and it is right to continue along this line, given that the results are there for all to see. There is enthusiasm in the Forum Julii environment, an enthusiasm that involves the city and the neighboring municipalities.

We have also already reached the first goal of the 5 boys in the first team, which is no small goal ».

A project that is also confirmed in terms of the successes matured on the field, considering the recent advancement of the Juniors and the Giovanissimi to the next phase for their respective championships. –
