The first category is enriched this year with an extra precious piece: the goalkeeper Fabio Gillone, after nine years at the Rivarolese both in Excellence and in Promotion, has decided to marry the Italian cause from Strambino. With great enthusiasm, as he himself says: «I had already been to Strambino from 2004 to 2011, when the club was no longer able to register for the Promotion Championship (bankruptcy) and I went to play in Rivarolo. The choice to go back to wearing the blue shirt is due exclusively to family reasons and I returned with great enthusiasm and desire to bring these colors back up. Compared to ten years ago – comments Gillone – the only two players that I have again found as teammates are the forward Giorgio Pallante and the midfielder and, if necessary, defender Roberto Ferrero. Moving on to personal and team objectives, I essentially aim to make our young people in the nursery grow, hoping that in a few years they will be able to tread the stage of the first team more frequently ».
The new signing Gillone then focuses on the championship that will be: “After all these months of inactivity, it will be difficult to get back in the best condition right away, it will take time, while as regards the teams in our group, the B, which I see favorites, also in the light of the purchases made in the summer, I say Gattinara, Ceversama, Ponderano and Vischese, then it will be, as always, the field to decide who will have worked better in the transfer market – says Gillone -. On a mental level, going from Promotion to the First category, personally, does not change much, also because here too I will have to work hard and with great intensity during the week, in order to be ready to play on Sunday. I can’t wait to be able to return to savor the emotions of being able to climb the ramp of the Bertotti tunnel and defend the door of the Strambinese 1924, taking with me all the experience accumulated in nine years of militancy at the Rivarolese ». –
