Mexican actor Cristo Fernández recently experienced a moment of pure joy as he reunited with his great passion: soccer. The actor, known for his role as Dani Rojas in the series “Ted Lasso,” participated in the fourth edition of the Star Meeting, a charity event that brought together soccer stars and celebrities as part of the 2024 Platino Xcaret Awards.

Fernández, who had a promising career as a young soccer player with Tecos de Guadalajara before being sidelined by injuries, expressed his gratitude for being able to fulfill his dreams on the soccer field once again. The friendly match, which took place at El Camaleón Mayakoba in Quintana Roo, was organized to benefit the System for the Comprehensive Development of the Family of the State of Quintana Roo.

Despite the celebrities, led by captain Gaby Espino, falling 8-3 to the football legends, including Diego Forlán and Javier Mascherano, Fernández was thrilled to be part of the event and to contribute to a good cause.

Reflecting on his journey from professional soccer player to actor, Fernández acknowledged the challenges he faced after leaving the field due to injuries. However, he found solace and new opportunities in acting, allowing him to pursue his passion in a different form.

In addition to his role in “Ted Lasso,” Fernández has also lent his voice to the character Wheeljack in the upcoming film “Transformers: Awakening of the Beasts.” He highlighted the importance of supporting talent in Latin America and revealed that he is currently working on new projects with his production house, Espectro MX Films.

Fans can expect to see more of Cristo Fernández on screen and on the soccer field as he navigates his way through the world of entertainment with enthusiasm and dedication.
