“Julia, I am telling you that I will always stand by the innocent people and I will always protect our country. I ask you to forgive all those people who accuse you senselessly and hypocritically,” said Pellegrini.
“You all know me as a person who condemns any kind of violence. I am against any war as a form of conflict resolution, and I strongly condemn the military conflict in Ukraine as well,” emphasized Pellegrini. The Speaker of the Slovak Parliament stated that it is unreal in what times we live. “We have stopped looking for peace for reality, we do not value people’s lives, but we are able to destroy them not only with weapons, but also with words in an unprecedented way,” says Pellegrini.

The speaker of the parliament pointed out that Russian hockey players play without restrictions in the most prestigious league in the world, the Canadian-American NHL. “Yes, we live in hypocritical times when a Russian can play in the NHL, but a Slovak cannot play in the KHL. And if he’s playing, he’s done,” stated Pellegrini.
He paused over the fact that, according to some people, he should not even represent Slovakia. “It’s disingenuous, it’s hypocritical. No one would think that the United States would support Russian aggression, but this year over fifty Russians are playing in the NHL,” pointed out Pellegrini.
