The Imoco starts again. The news arrived yesterday in the late afternoon: the tampons are all negative, the players will therefore be able to return to the gym for training. On Tuesday the team group was subjected to a molecular swab, after the examination conducted a few hours before the official meeting on Monday revealed a case of positivity, albeit asymptomatic, among the players. The team group was placed in home isolation, and the athletic trainer Marco Da Lozzo had to improvise a training plan that could be carried out individually in his accommodation at Imoco Village. Yesterday the sigh of relief arrived, the player returned negative. Probably the temporary positivity is linked to a close contact in the days preceding the arrival in Conegliano. Then the vaccine – being that all the staff and the team have already completed the cycle – ran its course.
Today, rest day, as scheduled by the calendar, but in the morning another round of tampons will be performed, and if yesterday’s results are confirmed, from tomorrow the panthers will resume with the original training program, and therefore with the official meeting at Rua di Feletto, postponed Monday. Meanwhile, Raphaela Folie also arrived in Conegliano yesterday, enjoying a holiday after the disappointment of the Tokyo Olympics. After the usual buffer, she too will be able to join her teammates tomorrow, going to flesh out a rather small group given the absences of the players involved in the European Championships, the Americans Kathryn Plummer and Megan Courtney, and also the coach Daniele Santarelli who is leading Croatia in the continental review.
