“Camera is rolling – “allez!” Jules Marie stands in the drafty anteroom of a multi-purpose hall and talks about this and that and his next tennis match. The Frenchman has made himself look pretty; during the video shoot he wears a sports jacket and shorts in white, his black hair is stylishly gelled and his full beard is perfectly trimmed. Marie casually holds his work tools under her arm, two rackets that he has to use in a few minutes in order to earn a small part of his living as a tennis professional.
The 32-year-old Marie now earns a bigger chunk of money with his video blog (“Vlog”), in which he provides insights into his tennis life and which he distributes on YouTube. He regularly provides his subscribers with impressions from all over the world; there is a story for every match and snippets in between on social networks.
