The Feltrini accept the repechage, but will remain in the Bassano group. Domegge refuses the jump: “It’s not the right time,” says President Castellani
There are those who say yes and there are those who say no. The Lamonese accepts the repechage in the Second Category, while the Domegge renounces and chooses to continue his journey in the Third Category. August therefore opens with this unexpected novelty, even if it shouldn’t change much in the balance of the groups planned for the new season. The rossoblù team will in fact take part in the group from Bassano and in theory it will be the only Feltre team to do so.
AWARD FOR CHILDREN
Once they learned the opportunity to move up in the category from the Veneto FIGC, the Lamonese executives thought about it, evaluating the pros and cons, before opting for the affirmative answer. Lamon’s football association therefore returns to regional football, after the last appearance in the 2017-2018 vintage.
“We have decided to seize the opportunity”, comments the president Vittorio Zannini. «It was the way to give satisfaction to the boys for their commitment. We are curious to measure our strength in a higher category ».
The leap forward will not, however, involve a change of philosophy or upheavals of the staff, on the contrary. Meanwhile, the coach remains Andrea Bozzola, who therefore learned to start the third tournament in a row on the plateau.
«He too is happy with the repechage, and we also confirm the idea of continuing with the same group of boys. We are concluding some operations in any case already foreseen well before the hypothesis of going up to second emerged. The group? We will play in Bassano ».
DOMEGGE, THIS IS NOT THE TIME
Instead, Domegge’s decision is opposite. The Cadore team did not feel like taking such an important step without having the time to set the season.
“In fact, we had a day to think about it and respond: too little,” complains President Marco Castellani. «Speaking from my stomach, I say that going to second would have been very nice, also because we are aiming for that category. However, there was no material time to involve the children in a very important decision. Doing the Second or Third changes everything, also thinking about the winter issue, so you need to be prepared in time ».
Castellani also makes an organic speech about it.
«There are many young players available to coach Denis De Bettin, some of whom are now in the first team. The second could represent a difficulty, so it is better to face a third year without losing the work done at the youth level due to the haste to go up. Now we hope above all to be able to compete for a full year from start to finish ».
ORGANIC
The Bellunesi in Second place therefore rise to twelve: in addition to the Lamonese, Agordina, Arsiè, Arten, Castion, Fulgor Farra, Gemelle, Juventina Mugnai, Lentiai, Ponte Alpi, Sospirolese and Tambre are present.
Sixteen teams will play in Third instead: Alpes Cesio, Amici di Fortogna, Auronzo, Comelico, Cortina, Domegge, Dynamo Vellai, Limana Cavarzano, Nogarè, Pedavena, Piave, Plavis, San Vittore, Sois, Valboite and Valzoldana. The breakdown of the groups now remains to be seen.
