Juve goodbye Ihattaren? Ajax’s redemption is around the corner

The Dutchman who fled from Sampdoria, where Juve had turned him on loan, is close to the agreement with the Lancers: the Juventus club will collect just under 2 million euros

Ajax seem willing to exercise the right of redemption on Ihatteren, on the basis of an agreement of one million and 900 thousand euros, in order to withdraw him definitively from Juventus. The bianconeri had found themselves forced to negotiate his sale in January, after the boy had decided to break the agreements with Sampdoria and change agents, a few months after the official arrival in Turin. It seemed one step away from Utrecht, the club in his hometown where he had taken refuge in the autumn while waiting to upset his football path, then the Lancers’ proposal arrived in extremis like a bolt from the blue: and the midfielder did not he thought twice about accepting. For Juve he is out of plan, the player has no intention of leaving the Netherlands: his future, in short, seems to be quite aimed at the sale, with only one meteoric pass.

THE INITIAL AGREEMENTS

It was Sunday 29 August last year, when Mino Raiola was sitting at the table with Federico Cherubini and his right arm Matteo Tognozzi, at the J Hotel. The agreement for Moise Kean was closed, but also that for another young man with high hopes: Mohamed Ihattaren, included by Uefa among the fifty most promising young people of the 2019-2020 season. The 2002 class landed in Turin the following day, to undergo medical examinations: the bianconeri won it for one million and 800 thousand euros, from PSV Eindhoven. For him a contract until 2025, but also an immediate loan to Sampdoria, so as to be able to monitor him closely and calmly evaluate his return in the following seasons. It seemed a perfect story at first, certainly a far cry – on expectations – from the negative development of the following months, which resulted in the player’s sensational return to Holland.

ESCAPE FROM ITALY

The player’s Italian adventure fell apart in a very short time. In the Sampdoria he struggled a lot, so much so that he never managed to find space for his Serie A debut with the team of Roberto D’Aversa, who was then sacked. In the middle of autumn, the footballer decided to even leave Genoa and go home to his residence in Utrecht, after a series of circumstances in which the club did not like some escapades in Monte Carlo and beyond. The playmaker’s escape seemed at first linked to family problems, but then his dissent on the Italian destination became apparent, for which he also wanted to interrupt the relationship with Raiola. “I left due to the surrounding circumstances – the player told Telegraph a few months ago -. I have often found myself in a hotel room alone, left to fend for myself. I couldn’t take it anymore, all kinds of agreements were not respected ”. And again: “I didn’t play, I wasn’t doing it, there were no prospects and I called Raiola, who told me to stay calm. I returned to Holland in October ”. In short, he will not keep a good memory of Italy.
