The Russian, president of the world amateur boxing federation, explains his points to re-establish a bit of everything following the indications of the CIO

For about three months and with 57.33% of the votes of 155 countries, the Russian Umar Kremlev has been president of Aiba (International Boxing Association), the world amateur boxing federation. His task is difficult to say the least, considering that the IOC has suspended Aiba also depriving it of the organization of the boxing tournament at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 due to serious governance problems. On the board of Aiba directors there is the tireless and tireless Umbrian Franco Falcinelli as vice president and president of Eubc, the European confederation of amateur boxing as well as faithful supporter of Kremlev so much so that, in Umbria, in S. Maria degli Angeli-Assisi ( Pg), the European Boxing Academy will soon be active for the training of technicians, referees / judges, doctors, cutmen, managers.

Cooperation

“I congratulate Flavio D’Ambrosi, the newly elected president of the Italian Boxing Federation – declares President Kremlev – and I am ready for a constructive collaboration. The Aiba is renewing itself. Reforms of our organization are underway to improve the development of boxing around the world. I am sure that D’Ambrosi will implement important reforms to allow Italian boxing to maintain its high level but also to have even more popularity and improve sports performance ”.

Forum for Europe

On 27 February, in addition to the ordinary elective assembly of Federboxe, the Aiba Forum for Europe was also held online with the presentation of two world championships that will take place in Europe by 2021: in Poland, in Kielce, the Youth ones men’s / women’s and in Serbia, in Belgrade, the men’s world championships. “We are working on the recommendations that the IOC has given us – continues President Kremlev – and when we reach these objectives there will be no more problems. With the reforms in place, transparency in the management system is improved, new committees are created for the various sectors, free training courses for coaches, referees / judges and medical staff will be guaranteed and, for this year, they are the registration fees for Aiba for national federations have been canceled. We have entered into an agreement with the International Testing Agency (ITA) for a comprehensive anti-doping activity, but also to jointly organize anti-doping training courses for representatives of national federations. What’s new on the program will involve improving basic boxing so that the most talented kids can participate in international competitions. Solving the refereeing problem is fundamental. We are developing a video playback system to help referees and judges reduce the likelihood of the human factor affecting match results. Furthermore, we will increase the number of international tournaments and improve the marketing and communication sector ”.
