NBA superstar LeBron James sowed doubt about his future on Sunday on the sidelines of the All-Star Game in Indianapolis. “I haven’t decided yet how many more seasons I want to play,” he said at the press conference. “But I know there won’t be many more.” The 39-year-old James participated in the All-Star Game for the twentieth time in 21 NBA seasons.
“I’m a Laker and I’ve been happy as a Laker for the last six years. I hope it stays that way,” he said. “I don’t have an answer to the question of how many more seasons I will play and in which jersey that will be. I hope it will be with the LA Lakers. It’s a great club. We will see. I don’t know yet how I will end up, but it is certain that it is coming.”
The record holder for points in the NBA was also asked about the Olympic Games in Paris (July 26-August 11). Team USA seems to be going with an absolutely star ensemble. James hopes for a third gold medal, after 2008 and 2012.
“When I decided I wanted to be part of the team at the Olympics, I committed to putting my health first,” said James. “The health is currently good enough to join the team and reach a sufficiently high level. I intend to put my body, mind and soul into the team, and represent our country with the utmost respect. I’m sure I won’t have to carry the team on my shoulders alone. That was not the case in my three previous experiences at the Games.”
