Left-hander Wandy Peralta would be in the Mets’ sights (report)

The New York Mets are not done adding to their bullpen just yet. After re-signing Adam Ottavino to a one-year deal, the team is reportedly looking to add a left-handed arm to their relief corps. MLB Network analyst Jon Heyman has indicated that the Mets have their sights set on Dominican pitcher Wandy Peralta, who previously played for the New York Yankees.

Peralta has spent the last three seasons with the Yankees, appearing in 165 games and posting an impressive 2.82 ERA. This familiarity with the city and the team makes him an attractive option for the Mets. However, the Yankees are also reportedly interested in re-signing Peralta, so the Mets may face competition for his signature.

In addition to Peralta, the Mets are also considering other notable left-handed relievers in free agency, including former Mets pitcher Aaron Loup, Brad Hand, and Scott Alexander. It remains to be seen if the Mets will be able to secure Peralta or if they will turn their attention to other available options to bolster their bullpen for the upcoming season.
