The news arrived yesterday evening with the official statement issued by the Governing Council of the Regional Committee of the NLD which met in the assembly, to express itself on the request by the orange club to be able to participate in the top regional championship, after the voluntary and painful renounces the series D.
«The Governing Council states in the note from the regional FIGC – today examined the request for excess participation in the next championship of Excellence, received from the Manzanese Calcio company on 1 September.
Also considering the timing, while regretting the decision taken, it resolved not to accept the request. Manzanese is given the right to enroll in the second category championship ».
On the sidelines of the assembly of the regional FIGC Committee, President Ermes Canciani stressed that the Federation was unable to take different decisions.
«I am deeply saddened – Canciani said – for this decision which deprives our main championship of a historical reality like the Manzanese which had never been relegated under the Excellence.
The conditions that have come to determine have meant that the decision not to enroll the Manzanese was unanimous by the Governing Council, if only for the timing of the request made and this decision was a duty.
We are waiting to hear from the company if it intends to enroll in the second category. Based on the answers we will then determine the different groups. The times are very short because the championships start on September 19th. I hope there is a positive response ».
The only possible alternative for the Manzanese is therefore enrollment in the second category championship. A scenario unimaginable until a week ago and which represents a very hard blow to the history and image of the company chaired by the president Filippo Fabbro. It is difficult now to predict what will happen from here on out.
After the non-admission to the championship of Excellence, the management group did not issue any statement.
Today it is very difficult to predict the future of the company. The primary objectives now are to register as soon as possible in the Second category championship, perhaps employing the players who should have played in the national Juniores and trying to safeguard the youth sector.
