From uphill racing to the track. Agordino Denis Mezzacasa (Xmotors Team) lands in the Topjet F2000 Formula Trophy. After last year’s victory in the Italian Mountain Speed ​​Trophy in the north, combined with the third of the group in the single national final, the driver from La Valle has decided to radically change his horizons.

From today to Sunday he will be engaged in the absolute temple of speed, the Autodromo di Monza, making his debut in the second round of the championship.

«I’m sorry to leave the climbs», comments Mezzacasa. “They gave me so much, but I wanted something new. Everything will be different, starting with the fact of not racing alone, but having to fight in the midst of the fray. I have never been used to the brawl and I do not know how I will behave. I just have to try. ‘

The only certainty is the technical front. The Aralla Team will continue to follow the Formula Renault 2000 with which Mezzacasa will try to assert itself.

«Thanks to Matteo Aralla and all his team. Having this confidence allows me to start with a good dose of confidence. We will be in the midst of over thirty opponents and we are aware that our car will pay duty compared to the more advanced ones. At least 25 of my opponents will come up with newer versions. We will not be able to compete with them, and I don’t think even with the others in my class, as they have a long experience on the track. Today I will have to study in free practice, aiming to do the best possible in qualifying. There will be two races, both 25 ‘plus one lap, so the body will also suffer. I’ve never been used to being in a car this much. In any case, we will give our best, and in the meantime I thank those who support me ».

The opening event at Mugello at the end of March has already been disputed, after the appointment in Monza the caravan will move to Imola (8 May) and will continue its seasonal journey in Austria, at the Red Bull Ring (5 June), before the double Vallelunga appointment (3 July and 18 September) and concluding with the return to Mugello (16 October).
