In the first legs of the Europa League round of 16, Milan beat Slavia Prague 4-2 and Roma beat Brighton 4-0. Roma’s victory was a clear one, thanks to goals from Paulo Dybala, Romelu Lukaku, Gianluca Mancini and Bryan Cristante. Milan, on the other hand, won with Olivier Giroud, Tijjani Reijnders, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic (David Doudera and Ivan Schranz scored for the Czech team).

Fiorentina won last night in Budapest against Maccabi Haifa, an Israeli team, scoring the 4-3 goal in added time in the first leg of the Conference League round of 16 match, the third most important European cup after the Champions League and Europa League .

On Wednesday, however, Atalanta drew 1-1 in the Europa League against Sporting Lisbon, recovering Paulinho’s goal in the 17th minute with one scored by Gianluca Scamacca twenty-two minutes later.

Among the Italians in the draws, Milan certainly fared better: Slavia Prague is second in the Czech championship, which however is much less competitive than the Italian one, and is a much more modest team than Milan and the other two opponents of the Italians. Brighton has been coached by the Italian Roberto De Zerbi for two seasons and is one of the biggest surprises of the last two editions of the Premier League, the English championship which is considered the most competitive in Europe, where it is currently ninth. Sporting Lisbon, on the other hand, is first in the Portuguese championship.
