The Minnesota Wild of Austria’s NHL legionnaire Marco Rossi also clearly lost their second duel with the Dallas Stars within a few days. After a 4-0 home defeat on Monday, the Minnesota team lost 7-2 in Texas on Wednesday. Rossi remained without a scorer in 17:54 minutes of ice time and was on the ice when a goal was conceded. Minnesota suffered its sixth defeat in the last seven games.
Dallas was already leading 3-0 after two thirds before a real flurry of goals followed in the final period. Minnesota’s Swedish rookie goalie Jesper Wallstedt (21) didn’t have a great debut. Rossi fired two shots on goal. The 22-year-old from Vorarlberg has twelve goals and twelve assists in his breakthrough season after 40 games.
With the play-offs it will still be difficult for his team. As the second-to-last in the Central Division, the Wild are at least five points short of a wildcard spot. The next game for Rossi and Co. is on Friday (2 a.m. on Saturday night CET) against the Philadelphia Flyers.
