Nigeria, two priests kidnapped: one found dead

Abuja (Nigeria), May 21, 2021 – Another one Catholic priest killed in Nigeria. Last night the Catholic parish of San Vincenzo Ferrer a Malunfashi, in the Nigerian state of Katsina, it was attacked by gunmen, that have kidnapped two priests: don Joe Keke and don Alphonsus Bello. And this morning the lifeless body of Don Alphonsus it was found on the grounds adjacent to the Malunfashi Catechetical Training School, while nothing is known about Elder Joe Keke.

The news is made known by the pontifical foundation ‘Aid to the Church in Need‘, which specifies how the the local Catholic community is shaken and terrified. Don Joe Keke, over seventy, after a life of pastoral service as a parish priest, resided in the church, while the victim, Don Alphonsus Bello, thirty, was the current parish priest.
“Within a few days, three other priests were also kidnapped. And behind them there are communities of faithful. Enough violence! – is the appeal of ACS – We again ask the government to intervene effectively to guarantee the safety of the faithful and priests engaged in their pastoral service “.
