Nutribullet, heat and preparation De Conti: “We will be very competitive”

by admin

“With this climate we are doing everything possible, we increase the loads. The players react well, and above all Bortolani ”

TREVISO

The first week dedicated to the Nutribullet preseason has passed.

This year, with official commitments starting in just over three weeks (Super Cup then Challenge qualifiers), the schedule has started working earlier and is less diluted than in the past: the urgency to show up at the start of a season that has never been so full of commitments already in good condition means that the technical part, and not only the athletic part as is traditional, has taken on an important part. Dario De Conti, who supervises the sector of competence, that is the athletic trainer of Treviso Basket, speaks of the latter.

“Yes, this year we made a virtue of necessity by integrating the two activities, physical and technical. I must say that as far as my job is concerned, that is physical preparation, I have found, or found again, the players very well: in essence we are really happy. Before the meeting we had talked to everyone by phone, especially with the new ones, making it clear how important this season was for the team and the club. And therefore how essential it was to accelerate the preparation itself, which perhaps required a little more time in recent years. The goal therefore is to arrive at the beginning of the season already competitive, to take the field to immediately achieve the result, starting with the Super Cup, to continue with the Champions League preliminaries and immediately play all the cards we have, putting on the parquet what they will have learned in this month ».

Of course, training in the Sant’Antonino sauna doesn’t have to be the most pleasant thing in the world

«Definitely not, but we are trying to do what we can: we certainly cannot pull their necks, we are keeping them monitored as much as we can. Then there was the body analysis by Francesco Cuzzolin, we have ideas and information. Of course the heat does not make our life easy, however we can only adapt ».

Luckily, on Monday you start for the almost 800 m. by Domegge.

«Let’s hope it’s a little cooler. It will be a week in which we will increase the loads, albeit slightly, relying on an easier temperature to work. Basically, the number of sessions will not change much, we will have four double sessions and two single sessions, perhaps taking advantage, if time permits, to do some outdoor activities. Also in anticipation of the return home, where we will find rather warm temperatures ».

The Performance Day will be repeated in the season.

“Absolutely. We have results that are already part of our “battery” and we will repeat them at maturity, some even monthly, others, new ones, we will have to evaluate them to understand how to incorporate them in our protocols and know how many times we will have to redo them. It is something we strongly believe in and it will be particularly useful for the transformation of field work, in a season that, we all hope, will be the longest possible. But also particular, because we must enter the field with the idea of winning immediately. However, the beginning was fruitful, we are seeing a wonderful team spirit: even Sims, who arrived a few days late, has integrated well with all the others ».

Is there any player who has impressed more than others?

«Well, I already said that basically we had excellent news from everyone, every reference turned out to be positive, so I expected them exactly like that. Everyone understood the importance of this preparation. In any case, if I really have to name a name, I’ll do Giordano Bortolani’s ». –
