National Olympic team wins three consecutive games in warm-up matches

Tianjin Daily (Reporter Shen Wei) – In the early morning of yesterday morning, Beijing time, the Chinese Olympic team faced off against the Jordanian Olympic team in Doha, Qatar for their fourth warm-up match. With Tao Qianglong’s penalty kick in the final moments of the game, the Chinese Olympic team secured a 1-0 victory, marking their third consecutive win in warm-up matches.

Playing with a 4-back tactic, the Chinese Olympic team displayed great activity on both offense and defense during the match against Jordan. The team created numerous scoring opportunities and showcased improved coordination and understanding on the field.

Head coach Cheng Yaodong utilized the return of three players, giving them valuable playing time during the match. Goalkeepers Li Hao and Tao Qianglong entered the game in the 60th minute, while Xie Wenneng, who joined the team on the day of the match, made his appearance in the last 15 minutes. These players made significant contributions to the team’s victory, with Tao Qianglong’s penalty securing the win in the 88th minute.

Speaking after the match, Cheng Yaodong highlighted the team’s overall performance and emphasized the importance of players showcasing their abilities and strengthening cooperation and confidence.

The three consecutive wins in the warm-up matches have boosted the Chinese Olympic team’s morale, setting a positive tone for the upcoming U23 Asian Cup. The team is set to travel to Dubai for a final warm-up match against the Uzbekistan team before returning to Doha for the final phase of preparations. Their next challenge awaits on April 16 when they face off against the Japanese Olympic team.
