After two years, Omnia finds its fans at the rally. A sign of hope and optimism. The team and the staff met yesterday at 7pm at the Coni Field to start the new season, with the round of anti-Covid pads, necessary for the ok to trainings. The new president Lele Caserio and coach Fabio Di Bella gave the traditional speech at the beginning of the year on the steps of the grandstand; then players and entourage lent themselves to the usual photos and the first autographs, welcomed about sixty supporters. The representatives of the Orgoglio Pavese club and the Biancoblu Club (his welcome banner) greeted old and new players.
First time
«Finally we begin – says Fabio Di Bella with a smile – it is my first time as head coach since the beginning of the season. I am extremely curious and determined to do the best I can. And also curious why I can give continuity to my new role. I want to work hard to best insert the players in a context that can be as fitting as possible for them, because they are the protagonists ». Aims? “This team is definitely a play off, we want to go forward as much as possible, doing better than last season” (elimination in the first round). Di Bella and the athletic trainer Alessio Firullo have set up a table to work hard «I strongly believe in work – underlines the coach Omnia – I add unfortunately, because I often let myself be influenced so much by the belief that the work done is never enough. It’s part of my character. The important aspect to take care of carefully is to be ready for the start of the championship from both a physical and psychological point of view. It is therefore necessary to collaborate, to share work ideas by the staff. On paper we have established everything, but it is clear that it will have to be modulated immediately, because the players have different ages, bodies, needs and times ».
Winning mentality
The air is positive, the players arrived at the meeting well in advance. «True, but I had no doubts – affirms the coach from Pavia – we closed the transfer market early in order to allow all players to immediately enter their new home with their minds. They are all people who have a winning goal, both personal and as a team. It is a sign of maturity and professionalism on the part of young people who want to compete in an important championship ». The team will not go to the high ground retreat, but will have its headquarters at PuraVida in Siziano, where they will meet in the morning and the collegiate lunches will be held to further cement the group. «It is my intent – Di Bella comments – I supported her and I looked for her, thanking Pietro Calvi and Pura Vida for the total availability they gave us. The work done in one place and all together in the morning, in a context where there is everything, will help in the creation of a group with some time in advance. The aspect that interests me is the construction of a solid group that lasts through difficulties ». –
